Preview:
When a body falls from the sky over Miami, the CSIs discover that the deceased was killed during a commercial space flight. What could have driven his fellow passengers to commit murder?.A couple sitting in a parked car receive a shock when the body of a man falls onto their sunroof, apparently from the tree above. Back at the lab, Tom struggles to identify the victim or determine a cause of death, but one thing is certain – the man fell from a height of at least 2,000 feet.
Calleigh suggests that the dead man fell from a plane, but flight records show only one helicopter in the airspace at the time. The pilot denies being out in his helicopter that day, and he is exonerated when Tom reaches an astonishing conclusion about the victim’s identity. “This man was in space less than 24 hours ago,” he declares. “We’re looking at an astronaut.”
When the CSIs learn that all NASA’s astronauts are accounted for, they turn to a local space tourism company. Owner Keith Palmer identifies the victim as Sam Gardner, a passenger on a ten-day flight that touched down in Miami the previous evening. The investigators obtain video footage of the trip sent by Sam to his wife, and are shocked to find that one of his co-travellers is the helicopter pilot, Beau Lendell. “He claims he didn’t even know our victim,” Calleigh says suspiciously. “Yet he just spent ten days in space with him.”
