Drama series written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes. When Cora invites Evelyn Napier to stay at Downton, he brings along his friend Kemal Pamuk, an attache at the Turkish Embassy. Pamuk is attracted to eldest daughter Mary, but he later suffers a fatal heart attack in her room. Mary turns to her mother for help, but they are not the only ones who know that Pamuk was in Mary’s room that night. Housemaid Gwen is taking a correspondence course to work as a secretary, but she is humiliated by the other staff when they find out – and above stairs some of the Crawleys feel that she is getting above her station. Meanwhile, middle daughter Edith tries to attract Downton’s new heir Matthew, but he proves infuriatingly immune to her charms. With Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, and Theo James.
