Isobel’s former student, Vanessa (guest star Courtney Ford, “Dexter”) offers to guide them through the research and ends up getting quite an education herself. Stefan (Paul Wesley) comes face to face with a terrifying new danger in the woods, and Tyler (Michael Trevino) makes a shocking discovery about Mason (guest star Taylor Kinney). Steve R. McQueen, Katerina Graham, Sara Canning and Zach Roerig also star. Patrick Norris directed the episode written by Andrew Chambliss.
