In the alternate universe, Olivia is held in a facility inside the Statue of Liberty and undergoes an experimental treatment headed up by the alternate Brandon intended to replace her memories with Bolivia’s. The treatments seem to be ineffective and Walternate orders the dosage to be increased despite the potential risk of fatality. During this treatment, she manages to escape and swim to the mainland, and takes a taxi driver named Henry (Andre Royo) hostage. Initially Henry does not believe Olivia’s claims of her being from another universe, but cooperates under duress. Olivia forces Henry to take her to the opera theatre where her group returned to the prime universe. However she arrives just as the area is being sealed and quarantined in amber. The alternate Fringe division eventually tracks her down at a gas station and sends a team to take her in. Olivia and Henry manage to flee from Lincoln Lee and the alternate Charlie, making a precise shot to detonate a gas tank and cover their escape. Walternate explains that this is a result of the transfer of Bolivia’s memories (who is an Olympic gold-medalist in sharpshooting). Olivia heads to the site of Massive Dynamic to discover it doesn’t exist. She then has the taxi driver take her to what she believes is a safehouse, which turns out to be the home of Bolivia’s mother, Marilyn (Amy Madigan). Initially, Olivia tells Marilyn that she is not her daughter; that her mother died when she was 14; and that she has never been to the house. Marilyn asks Olivia how she found the house if she had never been there, which causes her to question her identity.
