A close friend of Horatio’s son becomes a suspect in a murder enquiry when his girlfriend’s overbearing father is found dead.
Horatio’s son Kyle returns from Iraq with his army unit, but before long his buddy Brian disappears. Horatio drives an anxious Kyle to Brian’s workshop, where they find a burning body. The pair are unable to save the victim, who is burned beyond all recognition, but they assume the dead man is Brian. Tom points out that the killing has all the hallmarks of a gangland execution. “His body is encased in rubber,” he tells Horatio, grimly. “I’ll save as much as I can for you.”
